Nowadays, it is impossible to imagine world without Big Mac and children without Happy Meals. But there was a time when it has just started. In 1940, Richard and Maurice brothers opened their first restaurant in California with "Speedee Service System". The original mascot of McDonald's was a man with a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head, whose name was "Speedee". Speedee was eventually replaced by Ronald McDonald (a clown shaped man having puffed out costume legs) in 1967, when the company first filed a U.S. trademark. The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised restaurant in 1955. The famous double arched "M" symbol appeared in 1968. The company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life with the expansion of McDonald's into many international markets. Its prominence has also made it a frequent topic of public debates about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility. McDonald's has a lot of opponents, but it still exists and is beloved by many people.

McDonald’s Introduces The “Extraordinary Value Meal”

McDonald’s has announced that it is going to reshape how it markets its value menu a bit by eliminating some things, adding some things and moving some
things around:

First, they’re taking the small coke and fries off the Dollar Menu, which probably didn’t sell as much as the other items, and are replacing them with cookies and ice cream cones. Who needs a small coke when you can wash
down your meal with ice cream?

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES CANADA LAUNCHES THE FIRST APP MADE BY KIDS TO HELP KIDS

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Canada launches Kidscape on iTunes, the first app made by kids to help kids. A special and innovative game, Kidscape is the first gaming app that features images drawn by kids, with all artwork done by children staying at Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada.

The Kidscape app, which is available in three different versions — city, farm and space — is unlike other apps available on the market. It allows users to connect with the kids that drew the pictures, with the game play experience taking you inside a child's imagination.
